چکیده
This paper analyzes a single-server finite-buffer vacation (single and multiple) queue wherein the input process follows a discrete-time batch Markovian arrival process (D-BMAP). The service and vacation times are generally distributed and their durations are integral multiples of a slot duration. We obtain the state probabilities at service completion, vacation termination, arbitrary, and prearrival epochs. The loss probabilities of the first-, an arbitraryand the last-customer in a batch, and other performance measures along with numerical aspects have been discussed. The analysis of actual waiting time of these customers in an accepted batch is also carried out. 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Discrete Time Analysis of Multi-Server Queueing System with Multiple Working Vacations and Reneging of Customers
This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...
متن کاملLogarithmic Asymptotics for the GI/G/1-type Markov Chains and their Applications to the BMAP/G/1 Queue with Vacations
We study tail asymptotics of the stationary distribution for the GI=G=1-type Markov chain with finitely many background states. Decay rate in the logarithmic sense is identified under a number of conditions on the transition probabilities. The results are applied to the BMAP=G=1 queuewith vacations. The relationship between vacation time and the decay rate of the queue length distribution is in...
متن کاملAnalysis of an M/G/1 Queue with Multiple Vacations, N-policy, Unreliable Service Station and Repair Facility Failures
This paper studies an M/G/1 repairable queueing system with multiple vacations and N-policy, in which the service station is subject to occasional random breakdowns. When the service station breaks down, it is repaired by a repair facility. Moreover, the repair facility may fail during the repair period of the service station. The failed repair facility resumes repair after completion of its re...
متن کاملAnalysis of Queue-Length Dependent Vacations and P-Limited Service in BMAP/G/1/N Systems: Stationary Distributions and Optimal Control
We consider a finite-buffer single server queueing system with queue-length dependent vacations where arrivals occur according to a batch Markovian arrival process (BMAP). The service discipline is P-limited service, also called E-limited with limit variation (ELV) where the server serves until either the system is emptied or a randomly chosen limit of L customers has been served. Depending on ...

This paper presents a discrete-time single-server finite buffer N threshold policy queue with renewal input and discreteMarkovian service process. The server terminates service whenever the system becomes empty, and recommencesservice as soon as the number of waiting customers in the queue is N. We obtain the system-length distributionsat pre-arrival and arbitrary epochs using the supplementary...
